What is your Swing at Tour Tempo?
On the Pro Golf Tour, you’ll see a wide array of different types of swings and tempos – whether it be fast tempos, slow tempos, or moderate tempos – BUT, what nearly all the players have in common is that their tempos are all about the same.
NEARLY ALL OF THEM SWING AT a 3 – 1 TEMPO; Meaning that their Backswings take about 3 times longer than their Downswings. Specifically, from the moment they take the club away from the ball to Impact takes on average 1.2 Seconds – with the backswing taking .9 seconds to the Top, and about .4 of a second from the Top to Impact. Some players like Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka actually take around 1 second from Takeaway to Impact – and others take even longer; but always at 3:1. (There are of course, exceptions).
REGARDLESS, WE WANT THE BACKSWING TO TAKE 3 TIMES LONGER THAN THE DOWNSWING!
How do we get there?
Although most of us (me included) have always tried to swing slower, after discovering the TOUR TEMPO, realized that at times I had become TOO SLOW and actually gotten out of my natural Rhythm (although I never realized that). BY TIMING MY SWING TO THE TOUR TEMPO BEEPS, i slightly sped up my tempo and actually ‘BALANCED MY BACKSWING AND DOWNSWING!!
I personally believe that the Tour Tempo Product will help your swing and Tempo, and you should find that your swing mechanics take care of themselves!
